SCRT ARTIST SHOWCASE

A showcase of artworks from past collaborators, with oil paintings, textiles, ceramics and metalwork on show, curated by Lucia Jurikova.

Artworks will be for sale with all proceeds going directly to the artists, hosted at our flagship store in Shoreditch.

Bo Matteini

Bo Matteini has been working with SCRT®️ for several years now, working closely with the team, firstly as a designer and now, Art Director.

Bo’s painting practice is based around creation and exploration. Exploring the medium of oil in its physical sense - colours and compositions are dictated by the physical limitations of the medium, how colours mix and react.

Colours are chosen and placed by their physical qualities, it is how they interact with one another that creates the painting.

All works are untitled, they were created in 2021 in the SCRT studio in Hackney Downs. They are mostly landscape paintings using natural forms such as trees, grass and sky.

Katya Rogers

Katya Rogers is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in East London. Being led by process and creating tactile pieces, Katya explores the concepts of dissociation and introspection. Working primarily with the mediums of textiles and metal casting, she is influenced by her surroundings of East London, Isle of Dogs and the Thames.

Through her work the artist explores feelings of isolation and being torn between different avenues. She includes cartoonish characters to transform negative emotions into more of a playful outlet; juxtaposing a sense of disconnection and solitude. Katya creates the compositions for her artwork using the method of Automatic Drawing; a technique used by the Surrealists as a way to tap into ones subconscious self.

Messy by Mahlia

Mahlia is a ceramist based in East London, known for her handcrafted ceramics. Her work is a testament to the artistry and dedication she brings to each unique piece, reflecting a journey that began in her grandparents' backyard during her childhood.

A self-taught ceramist, Mahlia has honed her skills over the years with guidance from friends and family who share her passion for the craft. Her creative process includes both hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques.

Mahlia's pieces are characterised by their refined craftsmanship and distinctive, often imperfect, beauty. She finds joy in embracing the imperfections that make each piece uniquely charming and authentic.
